MSW Plant

Municipal Solid Waste To Energy Plants

Electric power or natural gas generation facilities utilizing Municipal Solid Waste ("MSW") represent the most commonly proposed PES project, however almost any other carbon based waste stream such as waste rubber, automotive shredder residue, plant materials or even hazardous waste may serve as feedstock for the process.

A gasification plant utilizing the Nova process produce a synthesis gas fuel in an environmentally acceptable manner.   The syngas produced by the facility may be locally as a captive substitute for purchased natural gas or sold and piped into the regular natural gas system.  That flexibility allows the syngas to serve either the natural gas industry or for electricity production depending on specific needs.

A typical 30 module, 2,250 US tons per day (tpd), gasification plant that processes MSW will produce approximately 100 megawatts ("MW") of electricity using a combined cycle power plant with General Electric (GE Energy) Gas Turbines.
